This collaboration means the aerie is blessed with unparalleled high capacity Internet. On a network designed to facilitate Internet and Cloud connectivity, a managed WLAN network will allow users to connect to the network through the building and will support QoS enabled voice and video communications.
A TPG/ Telstra/ Optus service would have multiple users on the capacity they sell on both segments of the network – the service between the user and the network boundary, and the service from the boundary to the Internet. In the consumer space there would be between 50 and 200 users all competing for that same bandwidth. This is referred to as a contention ratio – 1 to 50 or 1 to 200.
VERTEL are providing the aerie with a service that is a 1 to 1 ratio (i.e. the full 50Mbps is available at all times).
